What is Green Pest Control?
Traditional pest control uses pesticides in the family of Pyrethroids. Our program uses
Eco-Smart products that lessen the use of traditional pesticides while reducing the
risk of pesticide exposure. We use EcoSmart products such as inorganic dust, gel
baits, insect specific growth regulators and clove oil as a means of controlling your
insect problems. In the summer months when insect are abundant we also use
reduced impact products such as non-repellents and non-pyrethroids such as
Termidor, Premise and Phantom.
With Paramount Pest Controls Green Pest Program we use either a hand tank or a
back pack sprayer as apposed to power spraying your complete yard, this reduces the
amount of products placed on your property. This service is provided at an affordable
price slightly above traditional pest control prices.
In a recent survey people were asked what "Green"
means to you in terms of pesticides here are the results:
- 83% Environmentally Safe.
- 44 % Not harmful to humans or pets.
- 17 % No pesticide used.
- 3% Did not have an opinion.
In California anything used to control insects is
considered a pesticide even EcoSmart products are
considered pesticides. Pesticides are toxic therefore we
must weigh the benefits with the risks.
