Pest Tip of the Month:    Fleas      

The most common flea we deal with is the cat flea.

Fleas are really bad this year so make sure stray animals can’t get under your house. Flea eggs can be left there by their host and re-infest your home. Vibrations cause the eggs and pupae to hatch so every time you vacuum you will no doubt cause new fleas to be hatched also as you vacuum you may be picking up eggs, larvae and pupae into your vacuum cleaner so here’s the tip ( get a cat flea collar and cut it up into about two inch pieces placing one piece into your vacuum cleaner bag, this will eliminate the fleas as they hatch out inside your vacuum cleaner and prevent you from spreading them throughout your home as you vacuum.) If you have recently had your home treated for fleas it is recommended that you vacuum twice a day for a week or two.
